The Book of Snow | የአመዳይ መጽሐፍ
For some time now, I have quietly carried a project in my heart: a Bible application built with React, Tailwind CSS, and Electron. Every line of code is being written with purpose, with very minimal use of AI, since this is a deeply personal project of dedication and effort that I promised it would be, and every feature is imagined with a desire to help me, and the people I'm making this for, draw closer to the Word of God.
The name of the project is የአመዳይ መጽሐፍ: The Book of Snow.
Why Snow?
Because although this vision had lived in my heart for a long time, it only began to take shape when someone whose renewed mind and Christlike beauty continually inspire me encouraged me to start. God often uses people to awaken what He has already planted within us.
Snow reminds me of the promise of redemption:
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Isaiah 1:18
Yet the beauty of that promise is found in another crimson.
The entire theme of the application is red. Not because red represents sin, but because the scarlet stain could only be washed away by the scarlet blood of Christ. The blood that was shed on Calvary is the reason scarlet sinners can stand white as snow.
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins." Ephesians 1:7
"The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
So yes: the application is clothed in red, because every page ultimately points to the cross.
This is more than a digital Bible. It is being designed around the way I personally study Scripture. Thoughtfully crafted note-taking, seamless organization, and features that encourage meditation rather than distraction are only the beginning. Every addition is being built with the hope of making it easier to linger in God's Word.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:105
I still have many ideas waiting to be built, and I genuinely cannot wait to bring them to life and, Lord willing, make የአመዳይ መጽሐፍ available for others to use.
May this never simply become another app, but a small instrument that helps people behold the beauty of Christ through His living and enduring Word.
